The Old Bohemian Homestead Christmas Plan

Make Last-Minute Christmas Preparations

Once I worked hard to clean my house, set a beautiful table, and serve a luscious holiday meal to the guests around our table. After the meal, I slaved over the dishes alone, and finally went out to sit down and enjoy our company.

They were just leaving.

I was the perfect hostess in every way but the most important one. Since that long-ago holiday meal, I’ve learned to speak up when help is needed, gauge how much I can do in the time available, and to give up perfectionism. When the lights are low and the conversation inviting, no one minds a few wrinkles in the table cloth.

It’s honorable and right to give the best to your guests, but they most cherish your company.

Have you ever stayed up half the night Christmas Eve, preparing for morning? You spent the Christmas season on a collision course with time, and the crash finally came at the last minute. This happened to me once, and I swore never to let it again.

No one should slide into Christmas exhausted and spent. I hope that the Old Bohemian Christmas Plan has helped you avoid this sort of situation. Now is the time to make the final push and get everything ready before Christmas Eve comes waltzing merrily along.
