We’re Using Our Imaginations
My favorite childhood game was one of the imagination. I loved playing make believe. Maybe that’s why creating the book extras area of the website is so fun for me. It’s extra nice to know you love Fantasy Worlds, Historical Worlds, and Mysterious Worlds, too.
Thanks to all who entered Creative Worlds and made them your own.
Of course, playing make believe together is the fun part. There’s also the technical part. Some things weren’t working very well the first time out the gate, and I’ve made some adjustments to help avoid confusion. I also removed the inconvenience of having to type in the password each and every time you open a book extra. I’m running access to the worlds on the honor system, which simplifies things for all of us. This is something I do at my website for writers, also, and I find that visitors respect my wishes. Sometimes old-fashioned ways are still best.
If you have any thoughts or suggestions for what you would like book extras portion of the website to contain, please let me know.

Book Projects
Fantasy Books
I’m celebrating the completion of Sojourner, Tales of Faeraven 3. Writing this story became an epic adventure of its own, one that ended well, thankfully.
Romantic Suspense
I’ve shifted focus to writing Deceptive Tide, a romantic suspense novel set on Orcas Island in the San Juans. The creative process is my favorite part of writing, so I’m looking forward to the next stretch. I do need to pick up the pace, so I’ve purchased voice-to-text equipment. I’m hoping that the move to dictation won’t slow me down too much at the start.
Like most writers, I spend too much time sitting. Dictating my writing will allow me to walk and write at the same time, freeing me from being chained to my desk. I’m training to walk a marathon in June.
Deceptive Tide will be the first project I write using dictation. Editing will be by the old, desk-bound route. For book extras pertaining to this novel, be sure to visit Mysterious Worlds and click the San Juan Islands image to go into the book extras for Deceptive Tide.
Historical Fiction
I haven’t heard back yet on The Widow at Hardy’s Crossing, a novella proposal I submitted to a large publisher through my literary agency.
I’m gearing up to begin writing Hills of Nevermore, first in the Montana Gold series set during Montana’s gold rush era. Needing to finish by my publisher’s deadline is one reason I purchased dictation equipment. I won’t start writing until I’ve completed Deceptive Tide, but at night I’m reading for research.
