Catch Up on Christmas Plan

Christmas Catch-Up Plan

  • Declutter, clean and spruce up all public areas of your home.
  • Hang Christmas lights and decorate your home.
  • Decide on a Christmas theme. Read why using a theme for Christmas organizing saves time and money while helping you bring to life the Christmas of your dreams. You can select a theme from 25 suggestions or design one of your own. Ask family members what they want Christmas to be like and work in any compromises before making your final decision.
  • Schedule the Christmas activities and gatherings you’d like to include as part of Christmas this year.
  • If you plan to make homemade Christmas gifts, decide what to give and who will receive them. Pick up or order the supplies you will receive. Remember to plan time spent making homemade gifts realistically.
  • Put together your Christmas gift list for purchased gifts also. You are welcome to use the free printable Christmas planner pages.
  • Verify addresses for those on your Christmas card and/or Christmas letter list.
  • Pick up Christmas cards or Christmas stationery, if needed.
  • Pick up any needed glassware, serving dishes, dinnerware, utensils, candles, pots and pans, and table linens.
  • Plan your holiday menus and shopping lists. The free printable Christmas planner pages should help!
  • If you haven’t already done so, join the Old Bohemian Homestead Facebook group, where we’ll talk all things Christmas, post photos to show off our decorations and handmade Christmas gifts, share recipes and tips, learn about holiday traditions from one another, discuss holiday music, recommend Christmas books, and cover anything else that is in good taste and Christmas-related. Ask to join the Old Bohemian Homestead Facebook group.
  • Start shopping as soon as possible!
  • Now, let’s move on to step 10.
