Those who have trouble saying “no” to others have never really said “yes” to themselves. It’s possible to be so far out of touch with your own existence you don’t even pause long enough to wonder if you’re doing the right thing.
Don’t sidetrack your goals by laboring to fulfill other people’s visions in place of your own. I wish we all could get a handle on the brevity of life. We dance through it in no time. We can’t afford to follow partners doing a different step. That will only get us tangled up, possibly injured.
My challenge to myself and you: say “no” to everything that doesn’t jive with the music you hear. Move into the dance of breathtaking beauty designed for you. Just say “yes.”
Wonderful! I love the concept of saying “yes” to myself. It sounds much more positive than saying “no” to everyone else. Thanks for the thought.
Excellent advice, as always, janalyn. perhaps one day you will put together a BOOK filled with advice … Ever thought of that?
I’m glad to help!
I have thought of writing such a book, Tracy. The idea is lodged in the back of my mind waiting its moment. Thanks for the suggestion.
