Janalyn Voigt's literary education began in childhood when her father read chapters from classic children's books to her as bedtime stories. She grew older, and the bedtime stories stopped, but Janalyn continued to fall asleep to the stories she made up in her head at night. This, combined with her avid consumption of books, gave Janalyn an intuitive grasp of storytelling. Adventure, romance, history, suspense, and fantasy or whimsy appear in every story she writes. Readers who enjoy Janalyn's vivid descriptions, realistic dialogue, and unpredictable plots often follow her across genres. Janalyn Voigt is represented by Wordserve Literary Agency. DawnKing
Tales of Faeraven #4
By: Janalyn Voigt

*REVIEW* 🌟🌟🌟🌟
It seems like I've been reading this series for the longest time when, in actuality, it hasn't been that long. You get comfortable and familiar with continuing stories, and it's always a bit sad to reach the end. DawnKing, the fourth and final book of Janalyn Voigt 's Tales of Faeraven, offers a well written and emotionally satisfying wrap for the numerous characters and separate storylines that have carried throughout this series. I always worry about loose ends, but the conclusion of this epic quest did not feel undone. Overall, this story is thrilling, dramatic and thought provoking with courageous sincere characters. It has been my pleasure to read each book, and I recommend for anyone looking to start a new series in the new year.

It's wonderful to read a fantasy book again. I loved it as a child and find that I still enjoy the genre.

This book is full of action and adventure. This is the conclusion of the war between the Kindren and the Elder. The story is told from several points of view. I liked seeing how all of their parts fit into the puzzle of the plot.

The series has a happy-ever-after ending that was great to read. There were a couple of people that I hoped would come back together. I was satisfied and had no complaints how everything wrapped up.

In the fourth and final book in her Tales of Faeraven series, Janalyn Voigt weaves a story of a group of people split apart, surrounded by danger, and all trying to arrive at once destination. Their journeys differ and as they find each other and lose each other as their journeys continue, the suspense of when anything will go well for this group of people kept me reading. Well, that and I really wanted to see Kai get his HEA!

While the title suggests readers might see more of Emmerich in this book, it wasn’t until the three-quarter mark he makes his appearance. But what an appearance it is. From the previous books, it was pretty obvious what his role would be in the climax of the series, it is still moving.

With so many characters and a ton of action throughout four books, there is always a lingering concern that a storyline or plot point will be dropped along the way. I was pleased to find that Voigt managed to resolve everything I’ve been following since book one. Plus, she did it in a way that left me satisfied with the end results.

It’s been a blast, reading and reviewing each book in the Tales of Faeraven series by Janalyn Voigt for each of the blog tours! To be honest, I’m sad putting this series down. It left me will all sorts of feelings of nostalgia.

As the last book in the series, DawnKing had a very triumphant and satisfying ending. While the pace wasn’t as fast as I thought it could be, it was still engaging enough to keep me wanting to know what happens next. In the end of SoJourner, many of the characters were torn apart, and throughout DawnKing they are working to come back together while trying to defeat Frear once and for all. I couldn’t help but root for Kai and Mara, hoping that they could finally get their happy endings.

I can’t really say anything else about this book without ruining the plot of the series, so I’ll leave my review here. I enjoyed DawnKing just as much as I enjoyed the rest of the series and I recommend you pick up this series today!

Its ended :( The Tales of Faeraven series is finished: but what a finish! Its magnificent. There's plenty of action and family drama, but also some clever allegory and a wonderful redemptive story for one of the characters. Well, more than one actually, as the redemption theme underpins the story.
Even when everything appears lost, the Dawnking offers a promise of hope. He never forces himself on anyone, nor does he just do the easy thing but appears when the need is greatest. Yet the characters can still choose to reject his advice.

Dawnking is more of a story about journeys than the other books. The characters get separated and have to survive and protect those they love, as well as confronting their secrets, worst fears and past demons. The conclusion is satisfying and ties up the loose ends but too too easy, nor does it come over as contrived, as in some novels.

There were a couple of parts that were hard to follow, but maybe a re-read will remedy that :) Overall, it was just an excellent conclusion to the Fantasy series, which characters old and new, and some vague echoes of classics such as the Chronicles of Narnia.

The only complaint I had was a couple of references which kind of jarred me out of the Medieval style setting, and weren't in the previous books. Not sure why they were in this one but this did not detract from my enjoyment of the story.

I would recommend The Tales of Faeraven series to all fantasy and allegorical fantasy lovers. Although its not overly allegorical, there are some elements here. I would recommend starting at the beginning with the first novel Dawnsinger, though. Its been a long wait, but readers can now get hold of all 4 books to complete the story.

Thanks to the author for providing me with a PDF of this title. I was not part of the official Blog Tour and I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Will the DawnKing come to defeat the darkness?

Wow, was this really the last of the Tales Of Faeraven series? I mean, I really wanted to see the villain finally get his, I've cheerfully hated him through three previous books and now this one, but I'm also sorry to say goodbye to friends both old and new. Many questions are answered, though I still had a couple when finished the book, as the tale comes full circle.

One of the things that I liked best about this book was that we finally get to learn a little more about some of the fae people who inhabit Janalyn Voigt's vivid storyworld. Like the previous books, DawnKing is a full-color and imaginative world filled with creatures and people of all kinds. The magical elements are well balanced with the medieval inspired setting and the faith aspect.

To me, DawnKing had the clearest Bible retelling of all the books. I knew from the beginning who Emmerich represented but it was most obvious in this final book. However, you still have a story that is entertaining, full of adventure and romance, but avoids being preachy.

Whether you have a child in need of some good reading, want to read the book(s) aloud to your family, or if you yourself enjoy fantasy tales, the Tales Of Faeraven have you covered. It's an excellent series and one that I would not hesitate to recommend.

With DawnKing being the end of a series I wonder where the talented pen of Janalyn Voigt may take us next...

This is the final book of the Tales of Faeraven book, and it does not disappoint. It picks up where part 3 left off, and doesn't let up on the action.

You definitely want to read this after reading Sojourner (part 3). I actually started this one first, put it down and read Sojourner before continuing. I was able to follow okay, but I was in the dark with a lot of the action.

I highly recommend this series.
