She wants a successful man, not a street musician. With Corey looking her way again, Matt has started acting funny, however.  If Matt wasn't a cubicle worker moonlighting as a Seattle street musician, this would be easy.Never mind that she finds Matt charming and attractive... Hailey can't afford a drag on her ambitions. She needs to climb the career ladder in order to keep her childhood home, all she has left of her parents. No, Corey is the right man to help her get ahead, not Matt, but... Why doesn't that idea sit right with her?  Matt isn't about to tell Hailey... ...that the 'fiddle' he carries is a Stradivarius or that he owns a tuxedo, not after his fiancé ditched him for a man with more money. Let her love him for himself or not at all.All I Want for Christmas ( A Sweet Serenade Christmas Novella , book one) is a sweet Christmas romance novella. Put a little sugar in your Christmas. Janalyn Voigt's literary education began in childhood when her father read chapters from classic children's books to her as bedtime stories. She grew older, and the bedtime stories stopped, but Janalyn continued to fall asleep to the stories she made up in her head at night. This, combined with her avid consumption of books, gave Janalyn an intuitive grasp of storytelling. Adventure, romance, history, suspense, and fantasy or whimsy appear in every story she writes. Readers who enjoy Janalyn's vivid descriptions, realistic dialogue, and unpredictable plots often follow her across genres. Janalyn Voigt is represented by Wordserve Literary Agency. A sweet Christmas story. I would have liked some more depth and I did notice a couple typos/inconsistencies (for example the day a party was to take place changed randomly), but nothing that took away from the story and my enjoyment of it. I liked the characters, but to me Hailey seemed pretty shallow at first so I'm not sure what Matt saw in her. And I never understood what happened with her and Corey that hurt her so bad. Did they have some type of relationship or did she just have a crush on him? Then her feelings suddenly changed. Other then those issues, I thought the story was really sweet and I especially loved the author's note about how she related to the characters and incorporated some of her own story.

Ok we know what will happen between Hailey and Matt from the beginning. This is one of those stories where that's ok, how will we get there. The story delivers. Break-ups, other relationships, lies, and missed chances all play into the story. Enough to be frustrating, but not to be a turn- off.

Quick and fun holiday bite of a read to keep your fun romance side going. A tale of mistaken identities, longing-for-more friendships, daily latte and office politics set in Seattle create a sweet story. The story of seeing what you want to see, having a hard time looking past your nose, and fearing failure and the future catch two people square at holiday time. Orphaned Hailey is good at her head job, but her artsy heart work may not pay the bills. If she was to fall in love, it would have to be with someone who won’t take advantage of her. Matt’s been burned a time too many and when he’s not being pursued for who he is, he can let his fun side out…only when confession time comes, he needs a stiff upper lip and the help of Hailey’s friend.

All I want for Christmas is a quick read with lots of characters and action. The hero and heroine, Hailey and Matt, are trying to figure out what they want in life with the hero not being totally honest in the beginning with Hailey. The description of the setting was well developed where you could picture the scenery in Seattle. The romance happens at Christmas, so if you want a quick Christmas romance this is the novella for you.

I received a complimentary copy of the novella from the author after posting a comment on a blog post. I was not required to write a review but have shared my honest opinion.

Enjoyable read. The story occurs during the Christmas season but I feel it has far more to do with what the lead characters want for their future than for Christmas. The fact it was Christmas enhanced the romantic aspect to some extent but it also made it more difficult when everything seemed to be falling apart. In some respects, I think Izzy was really the main character of the story. Without her take-charge approach, it could have taken the other characters another year or two to figure out what they wanted. I received a complimentary copy from the author.

I had the honor to review this book for the author. The opinions expressed in my review are my own honest thoughts and reaction to this book. Hailey and Matt's story will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The author describes what is happening throughout this book where you can picture what the characters are seeing. You will feel God working throughout this book.

Sweet story

About two friends who work through their feelings about life and learning to trust. Short, easy to read, and at times, emotional.
